Responsibilities
Facilitates international and interdisciplinary cooperation in paleoenvironmental research.
-Organizes international scientific workshops and conferences.
-Represents PAGES at international meetings.
-Authors and edits interdisciplinary scientific publications.
-Oversees PAGES website content.
-Senior editor of PAGES News (three issues per year).
-Writes and edits PAGES publications.
-Manages IPO staff and budget.

Research Interests
-Changes in surface and deep ocean circulation on glacial-interglacial to decadal time scales.
-Regional patterns of climate change and their underlying mechanisms of atmospheric and oceanic teleconnections.
-Improvement of geochemical and micropaleontological methods for the reconstruction of ocean hydrography, in particular sea surface temperature.
-Effect of environmental changes on people in historic and prehistoric times.
