PAGES United Kingdom
Welcome to PAGES United Kingdom
The United Kingdom has a large community of palaeoenvironmental researchers based at over 20 universities and research institutions. PAGES within the UK is co-ordinated by the UK IGBP committee that meets every 6 months at the Royal Society in London. Under the auspices of this committee a one-day discussion meeting is being planned for 27th June 2007 on 'Palaeo & modern perspectives on Global Change'
The UK also provides PAGES leadership principally through the University of Liverpool’s role in the new PAGES Focus 4 (PHAROS) programme (“Past Human-Climate-Ecosystem Interactions”) programme.
The main focus for issues associated with palaeoclimate and climate modeling is undertaken at the Hadley Centre for Climate Change which is part of the Met Office. The Hadley Centre aims to use climate models to simulate past global and regional climate variability and to provide predictions for future climate change.
