geomorphology
Geomorphological, sedimetological and paleopedological investigation are also important in paleoenvironmenal studies. Geomorphological systems, such as fluvial or aeolian, lakes, and coastal systems, can preserve important proxies connected with climatic changes during Pleistocene/Holocene transitions, can provide a quantitative understanding of the Earth's past environment and define the boundary of natural environmental variability.
Palaeoenviromnetal Research has a long history in the geographical faculties of Polish universities, at the Polish Academy of Science and at Polish Geological Institute.
