more info
The focus of the activities at the Max-Planck Institute for Meteorology (MPI) is earth system modelling with complex, GCM type models, which are also used for the simulation of anthropogenic climate change. Main points of interest are the identification and understanding of feedback mechanisms between the different compartments of the earth system. Current foci are the effect of insolation changes, and the simulation of the climate changes within the last millennium. These simulations are also important for the validation of the models developed at the MPI.
